Elite Dance Team Skills

Girls – Half Day – June 1-3

Grades: 5th–12th Cost: $200 Time: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

A camp like this does not exist in our town where dance team girls can come together in a group setting and focus on their skills training for turns, leaps, and jumps as well as proper stretching and tumbling tricks. Do not miss this first-ever camp of its kind to train with the absolute best instructors for each skill set.

Wednesday will focus on turns with the best turn teacher in the south, Lee Eaves Mitchell. Lee is the BA and Texas Tech nationals routine choreographer. She will break down pirouettes, a la second turns, and what’s trending in the comp world for advanced turns.

Thursday will focus on flexibility, jumps, leaps, and tricks. Start the day with Alicia McPhee’s stretch and body placement class to learn the best way to warm up using ropes, their bands, and blocks. Then take classes the rest of the day from top college dance team athletes from UT and the University of Alabama as well as BA’s own Robyne Kennedy and Erin Nash and more! A loaded day of training.

Leg spins, advanced jumps, pom skills, and leaps. We will break down the “how-to” for every skill properly. Dancers are encouraged to even take video with their phones as we break the skills down.

Friday dancers will go to Premier to train with the top tumbling coaches in our town, Coach Sue Dorsey, Kaeli Dorsey, and Jamie Rosas. Don’t miss a chance to be a part of this three-hour master class with this trio of instructors in a safe environment.
